5 Motivation tips to lose weight.


We all need motivation and motivation to lose weight is very important. We need this motivation because we don’t want to get back to our bad habits. 

It’s always good to surround yourself people who genuinely care about your goals and want you to succeed. This can be difficult sometimes and we have to meet lot of people that are negative around us who don’t want to succeed.

So what can a person do to make changes?  Over the years that I have realized that a person can stay positive by themselves, and I think the following five things are important:
 
1)      Always keep reminding yourselves of your goals. If you do this, you will never ask yourself why you are going through all the pain. You should remind yourselves of your goal maybe 15 to 20 times in a day. When you do this, you will develop a burning desire to achieve your goals.

2)      Look at yourself in the mirror and be dissatisfied by the way you look. This is called inspirational dissatisfaction. And then take action to achieve you goals.

3)      When you are craving for that junk food and want to eat it, always ask yourself a question,  ‘why I should not eat this’? Then answer the question and remind yourself of your goal. Most of the temptation is there only for some time and you will often change your decision.

4)      Break your long term goals in short term goals and also always remind your self of your short term goals. When you do this, most of the times you will take action yourself.

5)      Keep doing what it is required to lose weight and it said by someone that, if you keep doing the new things for 21 days, you can change your habits.

The best option is to start dieting and spread out your daily meals into six meals a day. I know this is difficult but you have to make some sacrifices to get into shape. 

3) I should do cardio exercises after my weight training workout – You should never do cardio exercise after your weight training workout because after you weight training workout, your glycogen (energy) is depleted and you don’t have any stored carbohydrates that you can use. You should never do cardio after or before you weight training workout. 

4) Spot reduction is possible – You cannot spot reduce any are when you are working out. This means that suppose you have fat in a certain are like abs and arms, you can reduce that fat weight by doing abs and arms exercises. You will have to increase your cardiovascular workout to burn overall calories.

5) I don’t need weight training to lose weight – Although you can’t spot reduce any area, you still need weight training to shape your body and burn some extra calories which is important in your overall weight loss plan.

When you lose those extra pounds, you will gain new confidence in life and you will also feel good about life. 

I will give some information in this post on how to lose weight but before that I want to you to consider the ‘WHY’ factor. You have to decide why you have to lose weight. When the ‘WHY’ is clear, you will be able to focus on your goals clearly. 

Think about your goal everyday or even every hour. The more you think about, more action you will take to lose weight. 

Think about all the bad things that have happened to you when you are overweight. The more you think about it, the more you will avoid eating junk food or any food with high calories.

So let’s see how you can lose weight. Focus on cutting down your calories and burning calories. It’s simple math, when your calorie intake is low and you burn the extra calories through exercise, you will start to lose weight. 

The calories that you should cut are not calories from protein. You need to cut down calories from fat and carbohydrates. 

Always remember the following:

1)      1 gram of fat = 9 calories
2)      1 gram of carbohydrates = 4 calories
3)      I gram of protein = 4 calories

So reading the last paragraph you must have realized that you need to cut down calories from fat. You should not drink colas or any stuff that has lot of sugar. You should also avoid Junk food, burgers, pizza, fries etc. 

This will be difficult in the beginning because you might be used to this kind of food. After some time, you will lose the urge for junk food and you will start losing weight. 

Someone has said that it takes around 21 days to break a bad habit. Once you resist yourself to not eat any fatty stuff, the urge and cravings will usually go away after 21 days.

It takes work to lose weight but you should always think about how good you will feel when you lose weight.  To achieve anything worthwhile in life it takes sacrifice and losing weight will also take sacrifice. There are many people out there who might tell you that you can lose weight quickly but it’s always good to lose around I Kg (2.2 pounds) in a week. This is a healthy way. So you have to decide and do the math on how much weight you will have to lose in how many months.

You can also meet a dietician who can help you in making a good diet plan. 

One another tip that I will give you is to eat fruit whenever you feel to have a snack. It’s always good to keep some fruits in your car or office. 

So this has covered the diet part. Let’s speak on how you will burn those extra calories. You will have to exercise and you will have to do cardiovascular exercise. 

Cardiovascular exercise means, you will have to burn calories by doing swimming, walking, running jogging etc. 

You can also join a gym if you have ample time. You can run on the treadmill or use other cardiovascular training equipment. 

Some people are so busy nowadays that they don’t have time to work out because their schedule is so busy. 

I would suggest these people to walk to their office if it is close by. They can also use stairs of their office building instead of the elevator. 

If you are traveling by bus, it would be a good idea to get down one stop earlier and walk to your destination.  These are something that I have mentioned but I think you got the point.
